When: Saturday May 19th, 10AM – 4 PM (or when completed) - stop in for just an hour! Where: Lein Road Cemetery Park behind East Seneca Firehall in parking lot, 100 Lein Rd., West Seneca Project: Clean up Lein Rd. cemetery, including a new path and sign. This cemetery was abandoned and has grave stones from the late 1800’s-early 1900’s. Set-up at OMGC (Community Service hours)

Mrs. Kowalski asks your assistance for helping set-up at Our Mother of Good Council Parish (OMGC). You will receive community service hours for your efforts.

We will start at 11 AM and go for an hour or two.

Flag placement at St. Matthew's Cemetary

In honor of Memorial Day and those who gave their service to our country and our freedom, we will be placing flags on the graves of US Vets at St. Matthew's Cemetary in West Seneca (Clinton Street.)

You will receiving community service hours for your efforts.

Hot dogs and soda will be served for lunch.

Time TBD.

Memorial Day Parade (is still on!)

The annual Memorial Day Parade is Monday, May 28, 2012. All Scouts are asked to participate. Community service hours for your time! (2 hours)

We will meet behind 'Market in the Square' in the Southgate Plaza back parking lot starting @ 10:00 a.m. and finish at West Seneca Town Hall. Parade steps off @ 10:30 a.m. We will participate in the ceremony that follows in front of the new "Walkway of Freedom". Pickup immediately following at the corner of Legion Dr and Union Rd.

Please wear your field uniform ("Class A") and comfortable, clean, dark walking/hiking shoes.

Families can join our troop in the walk or come and wave to us as we pass by...

Campout: Miller Park Friendship Weekend

This is a FREE campout!

We will be doing some community service (YES, this counts toward your rank service requirement!) in the morning (about 3 hours, give or take.) The afternoon will be activities for the Scouts.

Please meet at the firehall at 6PM.

CERT disaster drill

I will be taking the Explorers to the CERT training at 611 Jamison, Elma on March 3rd at 11am. It will run until approximately 1:30pm. I will be meeting up at the Berg Road Hall at 10:30 and heading up together. If you and any Scouts are interested, then you can meet at the hall with me or go directly to the building. The scenario is usually a large natural disaster and we play the part of victims. They will have about 150 people that will go through the different rooms and "rescue" us. Whoever does come, let them know not to wear "good" cloths. Sometimes they have someone that can bloody us up to make it more realistic. The more painful we act, the more they like it.

Service Hours for Meyer's event

A group of dedicated parents and scouters every year host a benefit for PFC David Meyers, USMC one of our past scouts. They are the group that built Meyer's Village in Scheolkopf.

They are hold a fund raiser on 3/2 and need help from scouts to set up the hall on Thursday 3/1. Please concider volunteering for this worthwhile charity event. Contact Mr. McCormack if interested - we need 10 scouts.

Game Night!

We are hosting the annual Game Night again this year! Join us at the fire hall on Friday night with your favorite games - you can bring in xbox's/playstations/gameboys/ipads - whatever! Just make sure you have a monitor/tv to play it on.

Come with a sleeping bag/pad/pillow. We will open the doors about 6:00 - pick up is Saturday at about 9:00. We will serve pizza and snacks on Friday and donuts on Saturday.

Street clothes for this event.

Jamboree 2013 Information Night

It's BIG...
it's WILD...
it's the National Jamboree 2013 at the NEW Summit Bechtel Reserve.

GNFC is sending a contingent to the Jamboree in 2013 and Troop 483 has been invited to participate. To learn more, we've coordinated this information session with the organization commitee. They'll have a short presentation on the Jamboree, tell you about the planned activities, travel, who's eligible and how much it will cost.

Scouts and their parents are strongly encouraged to attend together!!!
